What makes SootSmart special?

• At the heart of SootSmart is a unique fused silica chip that combines integrated optics with microfluidics. Our based material -Fused silica- is an amazingly robust material with a 3,300 degrees Fahrenheit melting point (1,850 degree Celsius). While the material is old - as old as the Earth itself - the SootSmart chip is machined using the most advanced laser technology.
  
  
• SootSmart's optical components, naturally sealed in a block of glass, remain clear and in perfect alignment, even in the dirt, heat and vibration of an engine compartment.


• Translume's microfluidic chips have been etched to a non-stick finish with smoothness that can only be measured in nanometers. This smoothness help to keep the device from becoming clogged, even with heavy use.
